Fenwick's Weather Cheater
Fenwick's WeaterCheater Alpaca CoatFenwick's Weather Cheater coat is made in the US of 100% North American alpaca fiber. It has been carefully designed to mimic thebenefits of an alpaca's own fleece & will protect against cold, wind and severe weather for many seasons. The natural fiber allows the skin to "breath", reducing sweating and easing temperature fluctuation.

The Weather Cheater silently hugs the body against drafts, without crinkling or flapping. Its neutral scent is more easily accepted, doesn't interfere with bonding. The three sizes: newborn, youth and adult, have been generously sized to fit a range of animals shorn or in full fleece. Reflective patches make it easier to find your new cria or convalescent adult in low light.

Uses: The Weather Cheater may be used on newborns to guard against hypothermia: may be applied even before crias are fully dry. Support an older adult by complementing their minimal fleece: or aiding thin individuals to retain body heat. The Weather Cheater may also be used on freshly shorn animals or during a chilly transport.

Care instructions: May be machine washed in warm -not hot- water, and air dried. We recommend perfume and dye-free detergents and no fabric softener.

Caution: While Fenwick's Weather Cheater is made of breathable material, we do not recommend its use during warm weather, as heat stress could result. Please monitor the body temperature of any blanketed animal in ambient temperatures above 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Here’s what our satisfied customers tell us about
Fenwick’s WeatherCheater:
Rose Mogerman, of Alma Park Alpacas says: "Even in a pouring rain, the side (of the coat) next to the fiber is dry! They dry out quickly and stay clean. My girl, who was nursing a large cria, was terribly skinny and shaking. I put the blanket on her for the winter and when I took it off on the first 60 degree day, I was thrilled to see how much weight she’d gained!"

Lindy Huber, of Seldom Scene Farm told us: “The Weather Cheater coats were very welcome with the string of cold-weather crias we had this year. With attention to such details as a tail strap, the coats fit well and stay in place. Light rain and snow did not appear to penetrate the coats, which also have great breath ability. All in all, these are coats of extremely high quality and fit, and we are glad to now own four of them!”

JoAnn and Kristina Flegel, of Dos Donas Alpaca Farm had this to say about the WeatherCheater: “We used it on a four week old cria—it is the warmest coat we have ever used!”
“We have not experienced any sweating with it. . .and the baby stayed dry, despite a downpour. The belly band is wider, compared to others. . .you don’t have to adjust the fit as often.”

Sue at Ameripaca (owned by Gail Campbell) told us: “We used an Adult size WeatherCheater on 18 year old Saturn (a grand dam known for shivering through the winter). It just worked better (than other coats). She was nice and warm, which made us happy, and her, too, I’m sure!”

Diane, at Magical Farms (owned by Jerry and Libby Forstner) comments via e-mail: “The WeatherCheater coat is beautiful also, and certainly kept the cria warm. . .We will certainly tell anyone who asks about the quality construction, beauty and thermal abilities of the WeatherCheater.”
