The high levels of vitamin E, Beta-carotene, biotin, and vitamin C should strengthen the immune system. This would prove beneficial to the alpaca or llama exposed to different pathogens that occur with commingling. A goal of this additional supplement is to lessen the effect of stress sometimes associated with traveling, showing, and even grooming. It is fortified with the same high levels of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, as well as yeast and B vitamins, known to produce shine and luster in the coats of dogs and horses. These nutrients are present in the E diets, but at only 20% of these levels. Added sheen and luster may be observed at the fiber base in 8 to 12 weeks, but peak by 7 to 9 months. Fiber Nutrients target the camelid experiencing skin problems also. It is helpful if water or forages are high in iron or sulfur, or if the forages contain infected endophyte fungus.
The use of the animal as well as cost, make these higher levels unnecessary or unwanted at the concentrated level for all camelids. The nutrients provide MORE for the owner who desires MORE.
