Tips for New Breeders
A scale is the first priority, very important tool for health of any livestock. It is important for dosing meds, checking the weight gain of babies and pregnant females, etc.
Mesh or bar panels & gates will be needed before the livestock arrives to create internal separations, stalls in the barn and so much more!
Feeders will be needed in the fall to reduce waste and to help with parasite control.
Chutes are very popular for vet work and often nails & shots with alpacas & llamas.
Halters & leads will be required when the alpacas get there.
Microchips will be needed for shows & transport.
Fans will be important in the summer and at shows.
