Freight orders ship via tractor trailer. Someone will have to meet the driver to help unload. The driver is responsible for getting it to the end of the truck. Please remember that the truck will likely be a tractor trailer that will not travel up a driveway or other small roadways. The customer will be asked to meet the truck at the end of a driveway to unload.
Please contact your local service center (which can be located by using the link at (“Destination Service Center”) in the email that we send you upon shipping, to coordinate your delivery. This will save time for the carrier and the recipient and reduce the potential for 2nd attempts that can result in additional fees. It is recommended that you have tin snips or a razor knife available to cut banding straps off of your pallet being delivered if you do not have a fork lift or tractor with forks to lift the pallet off the delivery truck.

Hi Jonathan,
I just wanted to let you know that our order arrived early Wednesday morning.
We are very pleased and extremely surprised by how quickly the panels got here. Thank you for getting the order right, making it such a painless process and being so patient with my many questions. Feel free to use me as a reference for any of your Canadian customers.
Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Carriers:
Product will be shipped via UPS, or least expensive shipping method possible. We have a national discounted contract rate with UPS & Con-way to keep the shipping rates as low as possible. UPS is used for smaller items that fit their size restrictions. XPO Logistics will be used for larger freight orders.
Shipping Options:
Our web site will calculate the basic shipping option from our warehouse.
Expedited Shipping Options:
Next Day, 2nd Day and 3RD Day expedited shipping services are available at an extra charge. Please inquire about these options.
Shipping Confirmations:
Once your order is shipped we’ll provide an e-mail confirmation that it’s on its way (usually within 24 hrs) Your confirmation will include info similar to this:
Below is a confirmation from UPS that includes the Pro # for tracking as well as the expected delivery date. You can use this link www.ups.com/WebTracking/track?loc=en_US to access the tracking feature to check the progress of your shipment if you’d like. Insert your Pro # in the “Tracking or Info Notice Numbers” window.
Please check to confirm that your delivery address is correct. If not please contact me immediately.
PS. Assembly instructions, if needed, can be found on our web site at LightLivestockEquipment.com
Shipping Days:
We ship large LLE products ( such as chutes, feeders, and panels) within 72 hours of placing the order. (usually Mon-Wed-Fri). Combining shipments to one day is more efficient from a labor standpoint and from a freight rate standpoint. By combining orders to go out on one day as opposed to smaller amounts on multiple days we avoid up charges from the carrier and help preserve our national discounted contract rate.
Minimum Shipping Charges:
There are minimum charges to move any kind of freight. The cost to roll the truck into my facility to load and the cost to roll into your location to unload are the same whether the driver is handling one pallet at 200 lbs or 3 pallets at 1500 lbs. Therefore the price for shipping one 4’ Double Sided Feeder at 100 lbs is the same as it is for two 4’ DSFs at a total of 200 lbs. Depending on distance, 220 – 250 lbs of product is an approximate breaking point under which all shipments cost the same to move.
Damages:
While every effort is made to handle and package your order with care some scratching and scuffing is inevitable in handling the products. And while we have worked with UPS to determine the best way to package our materials to reduce damage in transit damages do sometimes still occur.
In the unlikely event that a damage claim is needed, a notation of damage on the original bill of lading will be required. Please check all products over very carefully while the driver is there and note any damage on the bill of lading before the driver leaves. Please also notify me of any damage within 24 hours so I can start the claim process.
NO CLAIMS FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE CAN BE MADE TO CARRIERS BY LLE AFTER THE DRIVER HAS LEFT. Any claims not documented by the customer w/ the driver will be the responsibility of the customer and will require a call by the customer to the local UPS Freight service center within 24 hours notify them of the damage and ask about a claim.
As long as the damage is well documented on the BOL, we’ll handle filing a claim with the freight carrier and provide replacement products at no charge.
Group/Regional Orders:
We have worked successfully with two farms combining orders all the way up to regional farm groups that consolidated orders for the advantage of their membership.
We can combine orders for any number of farms to ship to one farm or other business and reduce the shipping costs. As outlined above, there are minimum charges to move a shipment. By combining orders these base charges are spread over multiple orders therefore reducing everyone’s shipping costs. The ordering process is very easy for group members.
Case study on Group/Regional ordering
We will handle all of the following:
Accepting the orders via whatever method each member chooses (phone, e-mail, web order, fax)
Process all payments (check or credit card)
Coordinate the consolidation and shipping of all orders to one location
Calculate the shipping for each group member’s order prorated on the freight of each order as a portion of the
whole.
Invoice each group member directly with the appropriate amount of reduced freight. Simple and cost saving
